Superheroes That Deserve a AAA Game

Image
Since the Batman Arkham games more superheroes have slowly been getting more and better video games. We have the Insomniac Spider-Man games, and the Injustice games have all been great and I heard the new Guardians of the Galaxy game was good too and we also have a Wolverine game in development by Insomniac, but I'd like to see more comic book heroes with their own satisfying AAA title. Insomniac has Wolverine on the way, but there's potential for so much more. Here are a few characters I think deserve a high quality game. Static Static is a character I've loved since I saw the 2000s cartoon. He honestly has not gotten enough attention since even in the medium of comics that he originates. I would love to see a return of this character on the screen, but also in gaming. Conceptually, there is already a foundation for a Static game. Sucker Punch's inFamous was also a superhero game with a protagonist with electrical powers living in a large city so design-wise we're ...

My Most Anticipated Games of 2022

Image
Hello everyone. It's your favorite blogger/YouTuber Shawn The Wonder here again and I'm here to share with you all something I am deeply excited about. Video games are my number one hobby and passion and I am so excited to see what this year is going to bring. 2020 and 2021 had some hitters and and 2022 is looking to be a pretty good year too. The vast landscape of the Hisui region The first game I'm looking forward to, but with hesitation is Pokemon Legends Arceus . I was actually unsure if I really wanted to put it on here. Upon initial announcement I was ecstatic, but with the recent gameplay overview I am concerned, but still I wanted to talk about this title. So for Game Freak's next installment in the Pokemon franchise we have an open-world game with Pokemon Legends Arceus . This is set for release on January 28 of this year. Legends Arceus is set in decades past akin to 19th century Japan. You play as a trainer that is helping to build the very first Pokedex. Th...

Spider-Man No Way Home Review

Image
I wish Stan Lee was here to see this.      The latest MCU film Spider-Man No Way Home has made over $250 million in its opening weekend making it the third highest grossing box office opening of all time. People came out in droves to see this version of Peter Parker's latest adventure and did it live up to people's expectations? I cannot answer that, but as for myself hell yes it did! Of course I didn't have any kind of expectation. That's not saying I thought the movie was going to be bad or anything. I purposely avoided all of the trailers, news, interviews, and TV spots for this movie so I wasn't ingrained into the hype until release. Despite doing all that though there were some things that slipped through that I didn't want to find out about on social media, but overall I came in pretty much blind.     I'm glad I did because it was refreshing for once to go in knowing next to nothing about the film and ...

Wolverine and Persona's 25th Anniversary

Image
So Sony's PlayStation showcase was a little while ago and I just wanted to talk about one particular game announcement. Insomniac revealed that they're working on a Wolverine video game. I have not played either of Insomniac's Spider-Man games, but I heard they're fantastic so I'm excited for this Wolverine game. The most I've played of Wolverine in a video game was in the X-Men arcade game from the 90s and the Marvel vs. Capcom games. The X-Men Origins: Wolverine game has been said to be underrated. That being said Wolverine seems like a perfect character to make a video game around. He's violent and has a snarky attitude. I imagine it being like a character action game like the PS2 God of War games. I'm also intrigued by the story as well. I heard the Insomniac Spider-Man games have an original story that feels like something from the comic book so I'm eager to learn more about Wolverine myself in my favorite entertainment media. As far as the g...

Ranking Every Batman Movie I've Seen

Image
I love me some Batman. I fucking love me some Batman! I grew up on the animated series in the 90s and then Batman Beyond and I've read a decent amount of comics and played most of the Arkham games. I love the atmosphere, the detective aspects, and especially the villains. I adore most of the movies as well so I thought it would be pretty fun to rank the Batman movies. This includes everything from live-action to animated. I'm going to get this out of the way immediately and let you know I have not seen all of the Batman movies so not all of them are going to be on this list. I intentionally left out Batman Assault on Arkham as I consider it a Suicide Squad movie. I'm pretty sure it only had Batman on the title for branding purposes. S-Tier: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Gotham by Gaslight, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, Batman Under the Red Hood, Batman Mask of the Phantasm The cream of the crop, the crem de la crem. These are the a...

What Was It Like Participating in EVO During a Pandemic?

Image
So I know you all don't know this about me, but I'm really into fighting games. I got really into them in 2009 after Street Fighter IV came out and I learned about the tournament scene. I participated in my first Tekken 6 tournament, though it wasn't really a real tournament as no one else showed up so I won by default. I spent a few years playing in local sessions and getting third place at my first tournament in 2012. I participated in another one prior, but was eliminated quickly after being told that my button layout was illegal. So when I had my first tournament since then fully aware of the rules and used the default button layout. I got third place which surprised the hell out of me because the only practice I got was against the CPU and my little brother. I ended up losing to a Steve player that threw a lot and that was the end of my tournament plays until 2021. So at the start of 2020 I had big plans to venture out. I would join the competitive scene again, att...

Geek Vacation Haul

Image
So for those who only follow this blog I make geek fashion videos on my YouTube channel which you can check out here. I'll have a link to my newest video at the bottom of this one. Geek clothing is an overlooked segment of the fashion market and I will like to show you all some of the pieces I've gathered for a hot nerd summer this year. Well then, let's get into it. First, I have this lovely graphic tank top from The Yetee. The graphic here is an anime stylized version of the hit city pop single "Plastic Love" by Mariya Takeuchi. If you listen to city pop you definitely know this song as it's the most popular one on YouTube. The fabric is of decent quality and feels nice against the skin. Now I lost this tank when I was out one day so I don't have many pictures with me in it which upsets me because I only wore it one time before I ended up losing it. I am so frustrated by that fact. I found another online merchant that sells it, but I feel like the quali...
