Superheroes That Deserve a AAA Game

Since the Batman Arkham games more superheroes have slowly been getting more and better video games. We have the Insomniac Spider-Man games, and the Injustice games have all been great and I heard the new Guardians of the Galaxy game was good too and we also have a Wolverine game in development by Insomniac, but I'd like to see more comic book heroes with their own satisfying AAA title. Insomniac has Wolverine on the way, but there's potential for so much more. Here are a few characters I think deserve a high quality game.

Static

Static is a character I've loved since I saw the 2000s cartoon. He honestly has not gotten enough attention since even in the medium of comics that he originates. I would love to see a return of this character on the screen, but also in gaming. Conceptually, there is already a foundation for a Static game. Sucker Punch's inFamous was also a superhero game with a protagonist with electrical powers living in a large city so design-wise we're already set. Static has own unique set of abilities to explore too like instead of skating on train rails with Cole you'll fly through the city on manhole covers or the retractable disc with Static.

This would also be an ample time to bring Static's mythos into the forefront of mainstream media. I'm not really familiar with anything beyond what was in the cartoon and given the track record of games like Spider-Man and Arkham Asylum we could potentially see an in-depth story of the character's psyche and his rogues.

Dr. Strange / Zatanna

Dr. Strange and Zatanna would be incredible characters to make a game for. From the developer's end you can go practically anywhere from a gameplay and level design point. With Dr. Strange it can be set in an open-world New York City if you choose, a linear level based game, or a hub-center where you explore different dimensions. It could really be anything. Since Stephen Strange and Zatanna are magicians the potential for abilities is limitless. Strange also has a rich history in the comics to pull from that can create for an engaging narrative and visual display. I would personally like a Dr. Strange game to be an action-adventure game with horror elements and puzzle solving. Zatanna is also a character that deserves more attention in media and cameos with members of Justice League Dark could make for some well-fitting fan service.

Wonder Woman

At last year's Game Awards Monolith Productions announced a Wonder Woman game in development. The icon of female superheroes deserves her own game. I think a more linear-approach would be better for her. I imagine a character-action game like God of War or Bayonetta being the root of her gameplay, but could also see an RPG fitting as well. Monolith did make the Middle-Earth games. You have the Greek mythology background of the character to explore and running around in a full 3-D Themiscyra would be cool. You can explore the environment and culture of the island in a way that you couldn't in a comic book or a movie. I honestly completely forgot this was announced at the Game Awards because I haven't heard mention of it since. I hope Monolith can make something great out of Wonder Woman.

Blankman

All right, there's like zero chance of this happening, but I think it would be funny.

That's it for the superheroes I'd like to see get their own games. I could also see Daredevil having a top notch game, but I didn't put it on this list because I feel like it would feel too much like the Arkham or Spider-Man games and that's kind of boring to me. Is there anyone not on this list you'd like to see get a video game? Let me know in the comments.
