Persona 3 Reload Review

Image
So at the time I started writing this article I finished Persona 3 Reload just a week ago. It's been on my mind every day since and for good reason. It is a very fine video game, but it isn't without its flaws. Now to start off let me give you a brief history of my experience with the Persona series. Persona 3 FES was actually my first entry. It was the last game I ever bought for my PlayStation 2, but unfortunately one day I woke up and went to turn on my PS2, but it wouldn't turn on with the FES disc still inside. I don't think my PS2 could get fixed so instead I bought a PS3 later that year. I wanted to play FES so badly as the little I remembered playing was fun. I especially liked building up social stats and hanging out with people, but there wasn't a way for me to play it on my PS3 so I never ended up finishing that run. I didn't get my first real Persona playthrough until I decided to buy Persona 5 on a whim in 2019 and oh man I was so upset I took s

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow Review

Image
I came across this book one late night as I was scouring YouTube. I was looking on Amerie's channel and saw she had a review about this book and watched it. The story of this novel revolved around gaming and game developers intrigued me since I am a game developer myself and I decided to purchase this book some time later. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow   hereby referred to as TTT was written by Gabrielle Zevin and published by Penguin Random House. Gabrielle Zevin is best known by her book The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry , but this is my first novel from her. As I previously stated TTT is a story of gamers and game developers. There is no plot to TTT. This is a character driven story. We learn about the lives of Sam Masur, Sadie Green, and Marx Watanabe coming together to create video games. Though the paths that lead these characters together were video games this story is also very much a story about the relationship of three friends. Some might argue that Sam and Sadie are

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Spoiler Review

Image
So I've seen Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 10 for a private screening. This was a film I've been anticipating since the first released back on February 16, 2018. I had my ticket secured when Marvel first dropped the tickets in October and I rushed to enjoy the private screening that night dressed as T'Challa. There was a lot going on with this film leading up to the release with Chadwick Boseman's passing, COVID-19, and other issues on production. Ryan Coogler excels as a director in this film and Angela Bassett gives an unforgettable performance There were a lot of fan discourse concerning the choice not to recast, some going as far as wanting to boycott the film, which probably did hurt the box office a little bit, but my own opinions on the matter didn't defer me from seeing it and giving a fair chance given what Coogler and the team had to work with. Like many predicted the film opens with a funeral for T'Challa. Despite how beautiful the sce

What Kevin Conroy Meant to Me

Image
So yesterday it was reported that voice actor Kevin Conroy had passed away on Thursday November 10th. He is most known for voicing Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman the Animated Series . Batman the Animated Series , abbreviated to BTAS by the fans, ran from September 1992 - September 1995. The show won an Emmy for the "Heart of Ice" episode and won over many children's hearts in the 90s. It was my first experience with Batman after Tim Burton's Batman . BTAS was my favorite cartoon of the 90s. BTAS despite being made Kids WB! was mature and surprisingly depth. Though it was not very action-oriented like a DBZ or a straight up comedy like Looney Tunes, it was still able to keep my young mind engaged and offered something more that other cartoons at the time didn't. Batman in Batman the Animated Series This was my real introduction into Batman Kevin Conroy's legendary performance along with Mark Hamill's Joker were a major part of it. Batman the Animated Series

Is Cyberpunk Edgerunners the Best Video Game Adaptation?

Image
Cyberpunk Edgerunners was one of the surprise hits for me. I heard no word about this coming out. I was just on social media one day when a couple people mentioned it and then more came out and said how good it was. That caught my interest, but I took my time to get around to it as I was already engaged with three other shows. I took a break away from my other shows to watch the first episode of Cyberpunk Edgerunners . Cyberpunk Edgerunners is damn good. Edgerunners is a culmination of anime, music, and fanservice. This anime is by Studio Trigger which brought hits such as Kill La Kill and Little Witch Academia . The animation is top notch. It's smooth, but can also get appropriately chaotic during action scenes. There is one scene in the sixth episode that just looks absolutely gorgeous and trippy and it comes right at the precise moment to hit you in the gut. Edgerunners does an amazing job at establishing the feel of the cyberpunk and adapting the world of Cyberpunk 2077 .

Grand Theft Auto VI Leak! Biggest in Video Game History?

Image
So over the course of the weekend one of the biggest leaks in video game history occurred. On September 18th a user by the name of teapotuberhacker on the official GTA forums leaked images and 90 gameplay videos of Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. These links were aptly removed from the post, but they quickly spread on the internet, most notably on Twitter. These images and videos featured a male and female protagonist confirming rumors from last year that GTA VI would include two protagonists inspired by the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. The footage reveals through dialogue that the protagonists names are Lucia and Jason. Jason is a young white man sporting a tank, pair of shorts, and red baseball cap while Lucia appears to be Hispanic with long brown hair, sporting a pink top and blue camo jeans. A few of clips out there show a club scene, the city map, the couple robbing a restaurant and escaping, driving, and walks through the city. These leaks also confirm the speculati

BODIES BODIES BODIES Review

Image
So just out of sheer curiosity yesterday I looked up a review of this film after seeing Amandla Stenberg on my Instagram feed. I initially wanted to see this because Amandla is my boo, but the brief glimpse I saw from a trailer on Instagram made it look like a generic slasher movie and it looked like Amandla was going to be the only black person in the film, but I just decided to look up a review of this movie on YouTube and found someone who really liked it. I was surprised because it looked generic to me and the reviewer thought so too so I decided to buy a ticket and go out and watch it. So is Bodies Bodies Bodies any good? This film stars Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Myh'ala Harold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennot, Lee Pace, and Pete Davidson. Just a quick aside, , the marketing team was wack for hardly putting Myh'ala Harold in the promotional material. Outside of Amandla and Pete Davidson all of these are unknowns to me and even with Pete Davidson I only know him
