Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Revealed

Image
Oh my gosh! The Pokemon Company just revealed the generation nine games and they look freaking amazing! I was not expecting this. So this morning The Pokemon Company had a surprise direct which revealed a slew of Pokemon content including Legends Arceus DLC, Pokemon GO updates, etc. but the most interesting reveal was the reveal of the new mainline Pokemon games; Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet . The trailer started with a live action scene of a detective exploring an abandoned building. His exploration leads him to a bedroom that looks out of time featuring trinkets and decorations one would see in an treasure hunting movie. The television in the room glows and the detective is hit with a vision of a sprawling Pokemon world. Pokemon fans have been speculating that the new region may be based on Spain or Portugal, or a combination of the two. We see expansive landscapes with Pokemon roaming the world like in Pokemon Legends Arceus and glimpses of a couple of new mons like a...

My Journey into the Underground Music Scene

Image
It's been a couple years now since the 2010s have passed, but I haven't found an opportunity to really talk about this. I really started to get into music in 2012. In my later high school years I started to dislike the state of hip-hop and actively stopped listening to the hip-hop radio station and actively listening to the new artists. In the fall of 2012, I started to discover the underground scene. I recall one of the first songs I found was "What I Do" by Gavlyn. West Coast Rapper Gavlyn This sounded more like the lyrical rap I was fond of in the 90s and my dive into music just blossomed from there. Where I had previously just listened to R&B, rap, and video game music, I was now diving into Latin, pop, and countless other genres. I still mainly kept my nose in the underground and indie sphere. Discovering new music was invigorating to me and became my new obsession throughout most of the decade so I listened to a lot of albums. In fact, in 2017 I listene...

Catwoman: Hunted Review

Image
DC in the animated realm is just about as good as it is in its original medium of comics. The new Batman film starring Robert Pattison is coming out in less than a month and we have one other Batman related film to watch before then, Catwoman: Hunted . Catwoman: Hunted stars Elizabeth Gillies, Stephanie Beatriz, Lauren Cohan, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. This film takes a new animation direction with anime veteran Shinsuske Terasawa at the helm. This isn't the first time a DC property has gotten the anime treatment.  In 2009 Gotham Knights came out and featured anime styles in the film and I think that is the most recent in memory. The anime influence is apparent as soon as the opening credits with music and visuals reminiscent of the lauded Cowboy Bebop which Terasawa had a hand in making. The animation in Hunted is also pretty cool. It does a great job at instilling motion and emotion. The fight scene at the beginning of the film and at the end are part...
